Who Is the PowerTIG 210EXT Best For?
The PowerTIG 210EXT is a strong choice for welders who regularly work with aluminum or thin materials and want more control than a basic AC/DC TIG machine provides. Its waveform selection, advanced pulse, programmable memory, and low-amp performance make it especially valuable for motorsports, custom fabrication, prototype work, education, and repeat production jobs.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can the PowerTIG 210EXT weld aluminum?
Yes. It provides full AC TIG capability with adjustable AC balance, AC frequency, three AC waveforms, and Advanced AC Pulse.
What is the benefit of having three AC waveforms?
The different waveforms let you change the arc characteristics to prioritize penetration, puddle control, smoothness, or reduced heat input depending on the aluminum application.
What does Advanced AC Pulse do?
Advanced AC Pulse alternates between AC and DC- polarity. This can increase travel speed, reduce warping on thin aluminum, and improve penetration on thicker aluminum.
Can I save my welding settings?
Yes. The programmable memory can store up to nine welding programs for faster setup and more repeatable results.
Can this welder operate on a standard 120V outlet?
Yes. It operates on both 120V and 240V power. Maximum welding output and material capacity will be reduced when operating on 120V.
Does it include a foot pedal?
Yes. The Power Pedal TIG Deluxe 22K is included.
Does it support Stick welding?
Yes. It includes programmable Stick functions such as Hot Start time, Hot Start intensity, and Arc Force control. It is not rated for E6010 electrodes.
