SUPERFLOW 5 BCuP-3 5% Silver Phos-Copper Brazing Alloy – 1/8" x .050" x 20" – 1 lb Pack

5% silver phosphorus-copper brazing alloy for joining copper, brass, and bronze.
SUPERFLOW 5 is an AWS BCuP-3 phos-copper brazing alloy containing approximately 5% silver. It is formulated for brazing compatible copper and copper alloys and can be used where joint clearances are wider than desired and moderate-size gaps need to be filled.

SUPERFLOW 5 is self-fluxing when brazing copper-to-copper. When brazing compatible brass or bronze, an appropriate brazing flux is required.

Size: 1/8" x .050" x 20"
Package: 1 lb Pack

Important: Phos-copper brazing alloys should not be used on steel, ferrous metals, copper alloys containing more than 10% nickel, or in sulfurous atmospheres.

SUPERFLOW 5 for Moderate Joint Gaps

SUPERFLOW 5 is formulated for applications where joint clearances are wider than desired. The alloy can fill moderate-size gaps, making it useful when the joint fit-up is not as close or controlled as applications that use more free-flowing brazing alloys.

Proper joint preparation, cleanliness, temperature control, and base-metal compatibility are still important for producing a sound brazed joint.

Important Material Restrictions

Do not use SUPERFLOW 5 on the following materials or in the following environments:

  • Steel
  • Ferrous metals
  • Copper alloys containing more than 10% nickel
  • Sulfurous atmospheres

Phosphorus-copper brazing alloys are intended for compatible copper and copper-alloy applications. Always confirm base-metal compatibility before brazing.

Understanding BCuP-3

BCuP-3 identifies SUPERFLOW 5 as a silver-bearing copper-phosphorus brazing filler metal. The alloy contains approximately 5% silver, 5.8–6.2% phosphorus, and a balance of copper.

The phosphorus provides self-fluxing characteristics on compatible copper-to-copper joints, while the alloy is formulated to work with wider joint clearances and moderate-size gaps.

Frequently Asked Questions

What size is this brazing alloy?
This listing is for 1/8" x .050" x 20" SUPERFLOW 5 brazing alloy.
