I hemmed and hawed about buying this grinder (it’s not cheap), but I’m really pleased I did. Ridiculously easy to use. Nothing to adjust. Want a 45 degree grind? Turn to the set of 45’s—all common electrode sizes are right there. Nothing to set up. Using Orbitalum’s wand makes it even easier to get consistent grinds in seconds. I noted an immediate improvement in my arc as compared to what I was getting off an entry level grinder. Also extremely easy to blunt and cut electrodes.

The precision and grind quality on this grinder are amazing. Arc starts and arc stability are noticeably more consistent than using a standard bench grinder setup with a diamond wheel. It can easily be used mounted or hand held, and with or without a pin vise. Tungsten grinders are expensive, but this one is definitely a worth while investment for anyone looking to get a professional quality ground tungsten.

Posted by Wes Mishler on Nov 14th 2014

The Orbitalum tungsten grinder by far is the best, most versatile and smoothest cutting tungsten grinder I have ever used! This simple to use grinder can be used with four different size tungstens at multiple cutting angles without making any set up changes to it. The grinders head is already set up to except the most common tungsten sizes out of the box. The cut quality on the tungsten make the arc start so crisp and immediate. That is a huge advantage if your welding thin material where that static start could blow a hole in the material. Also with having that precise of a cut it will help maintain the point longer. This grinder is probably best suited for fab shops, aerospace welding and production shops. The price is a bit high for the average home shop person but for the precision of the cut its well worth it. Check me out on Instagram and say hi @Wicked_Welding

I recently had a chance to visit arczone recently and test drive this grinder for myself. I was most impressed by the finish and the quality that was achieved every single time , even for a newbie to tungsten grinders.!!! After using such a top quality grinder I can see the definite advantages of such a tool. I have only used a regular bench top grinder for decades, This is the best machine I demoed ,but a little out of my budget ,, but if you are in the market for a precision , top quality grinder , you can't go wrong here !!!! I used this grinder at my school and decided to buy one for myself and my shop. It is one of the best grinders I have ever used. The fixed grind angles keep everything consistent. Thanks for the How to Grind Guide.
