Electrode Holders

Secure, Reliable Holders for Stick Welding Applications

Knowing how to choose the right electrode holder is essential for stable arc performance, operator safety, and consistent stick welding results. A quality electrode holder provides a secure grip on the electrode, supports proper current transfer, and improves overall weld control.

We offer a wide selection of stick electrode holders to fit different applications, preferences, and budgets. Choose from traditional spring-style holders or premium mechanical-grip designs built for demanding welding environments.

Electrode holder styles available

Choose from traditional Lenco® Spring / Tong style stick electrode holders, or Premium Bernard® ShortStub™ & Profax® Twister™ style heavy-duty models that mechanically hold the stick electrode tight for easy bending & better arc control.

Premium Bernard® ShortStub™ and Profax® Twister™ holders feature fully insulated heads and a mechanical gripping design that helps eliminate arc-out issues commonly associated with open spring-style holders with exposed contact pads. These designs also allow for easier electrode bending and more consistent arc control.

How electrode holders affect stick welding performance

  • Maintain a secure electrical connection to the electrode
  • Improve arc stability and control
  • Reduce heat buildup at the holder
  • Enhance operator comfort and safety

About stick welding (SMAW)

Stick welding, also known as SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), joins metal by creating an arc between a flux-coated electrode and the workpiece. The electrode’s outer coating produces shielding gas and slag that protect the weld puddle during welding. A reliable electrode holder is a key component in maintaining consistent weld quality in this process.

Achieve steady arcs and dependable stick welding performance with electrode holders trusted by the pros.
