ICE-T™ Cryogenically Treated 2% Thoriated Tungsten Electrodes

Engineered for maximum electrode life, superior arc starts, and consistent automated welding performance.
ICE-T™ 2% Thoriated Tungsten Electrodes are premium, cryogenically treated electrodes designed for professional TIG and Plasma Arc Welding (PAW) applications. The proprietary cryogenic treatment enhances the tungsten's grain structure to improve electron flow, resulting in faster arc starts, reduced tip erosion, lower burn-off rates, and longer electrode life compared to conventional 2% thoriated tungsten.

Each package includes ten 7" (175 mm) tungsten electrodes. ICE-T™ electrodes meet or exceed ANSI/AWS A5.12, DIN EN 26848, and ISO 6848 standards for exceptional quality and consistent performance.

Why Choose ICE-T™ Tungsten?

  • Cryogenically Treated: Improves grain structure for enhanced electron flow and welding performance.
  • Superior Arc Starts: Delivers fast, consistent arc ignition with excellent stability.
  • Extended Electrode Life: Reduced tip erosion and lower burn-off rates minimize downtime.
  • Ideal for Automation: Excellent choice for automated TIG and Plasma Arc Welding (PAW) systems.

Important Safety Information

ICE-T™ electrodes are manufactured using 2% thoriated tungsten and contain thorium dioxide, a radioactive material. When grinding these electrodes, always wear appropriate respiratory protection and control grinding dust at the source using adequate exhaust ventilation. Follow all applicable workplace safety and disposal regulations.

Protective Packaging

ICE-T™ electrodes are packaged in clear plastic storage tubes with removable black vinyl caps. Each tube includes Arc-Zone's trademark wood strip to help reduce moisture contamination and support longer electrode storage life.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes ICE-T™ different from standard 2% thoriated tungsten?
ICE-T™ electrodes undergo a proprietary cryogenic treatment that improves the grain structure, resulting in better electron flow, easier arc starts, reduced tip erosion, and longer electrode life.

What does the Pink™ color code indicate?
Pink™ identifies genuine ICE-T™ cryogenically treated tungsten electrodes.

What welding applications are they best suited for?
ICE-T™ electrodes excel in automated TIG welding, Plasma Arc Welding (PAW), and other high-production applications where long electrode life and consistent performance are critical.

How many electrodes are included?
Each package contains ten 7" (175 mm) tungsten electrodes.

Are ICE-T™ electrodes radioactive?
Yes. ICE-T™ electrodes are manufactured using 2% thoriated tungsten and should be handled and ground using appropriate safety precautions.
