Everlast PowerPlasma 62i – 60 Amp Plasma Cutter with Gouge & CNC Modes
Clean, reliable plasma cutting for fabrication, repair, maintenance, and CNC applications.
The Everlast PowerPlasma 62i is a commercial-class plasma cutter built for welders and fabricators who need dependable cutting power, easy setup, and strong consumable life. With a digitally controlled inverter platform, blowback pilot arc, gouge mode, and dedicated CNC capability, it is designed to handle daily cutting on clean, rusty, painted, and expanded metals.
The large digital display makes amperage, air pressure, and post-flow settings easy to read, while the color-coded air-pressure guide helps operators quickly dial in the correct setup for each cutting mode.

Blowback Pilot Arc
The blowback pilot arc allows the PowerPlasma 62i to start without touching the torch tip directly to the workpiece. This helps improve cutting performance on painted, rusty, dirty, or expanded metal while reducing startup difficulty.
The built-in three-second tip-saver feature shuts off the pilot arc when no cutting arc is established, helping prevent unnecessary consumable wear.
Gouging Capability
The dedicated gouge mode allows the operator to remove unwanted weld metal, surface defects, and damaged sections without cutting completely through the base material. It is useful for repair, rework, weld preparation, and maintenance applications.
CNC Plasma Compatibility
- Dedicated CNC operating mode
- 12-pin CNC connection included
- Compatible with an optional machine torch
- Suitable for CNC plasma tables when properly configured
Important: Verify that the plasma table, torch-height control, wiring, and machine torch are compatible before installation.
Compressed-Air Requirements
Clean, dry compressed air is essential for cut quality, torch life, and consumable life. The included water trap helps remove some moisture, but it is not designed to fully dry the air supply.
- Install a separate inline air dryer in addition to the supplied water trap
- Drain the compressor and filters regularly
- Use clean, oil-free air whenever possible
- Confirm pressure and flow requirements in the machine manual
Operating the cutter with wet or contaminated air may shorten consumable life, reduce cut quality, and damage the torch.
Generator Requirements
- Use only generators certified by the manufacturer as producing clean power
- Total harmonic distortion must be 5% or less
- Minimum recommended generator capacity: 10,000 surge watts
- For best performance, a generator around 11,000 watts or greater may be preferred
Using an undersized generator or one that does not meet clean-power requirements may damage the plasma cutter and void warranty coverage.
Who Is the PowerPlasma 62i Best For?
The PowerPlasma 62i is a strong choice for fabricators who need more capacity than an entry-level plasma cutter but still want a portable and easy-to-use machine. Its combination of pilot arc, gouging, CNC support, digital air-pressure guidance, and commercial duty cycle makes it well suited for daily shop use, field repair, maintenance, and light CNC production.
Frequently Asked Questions
How thick can the PowerPlasma 62i cut?
It is recommended for regular cutting up to approximately 3/4", clean cuts up to approximately 1", and severance cuts up to approximately 1-1/4".
Can it cut painted or rusty metal?
Yes. The blowback pilot arc helps establish the cutting arc through paint, rust, and surface contamination.
Does it have a gouging mode?
Yes. The dedicated gouge function can remove old welds, defects, and unwanted metal without cutting completely through the workpiece.
Can I use it with a CNC plasma table?
Yes. The unit includes a dedicated CNC mode and 12-pin CNC connector. An optional machine torch and compatible table controls may also be required.
Do I need an external air compressor?
Yes. This machine requires an external compressed-air supply. A dedicated inline air dryer should also be installed to protect the torch and consumables.
Can it cut aluminum and stainless steel?
