The welding machine must have the correct connection for the LC-40 male machine-side connector.

Important: The maximum amperage of the complete ground system is limited by its lowest-rated component. For example, pairing this 350 Amp lead with a 200 Amp clamp limits that setup to the rating of the 200 Amp clamp.

How do I change clamps?
Disconnect the LC-40 male connector on your Shorty™ whip from the female LC-40 connector on the machine lead, then connect another Shorty™ whip.

Can I use a 500 Amp Shorty™ clamp with this lead?
Yes, if it uses the compatible LC-40 connection. However, the 350 Amp machine lead remains the limiting component, so the complete setup should not exceed 350 amps.

Can I use a 200 or 300 Amp clamp?
Yes. Match the clamp rating to your welding application. The complete system should never be operated above the rating of its lowest-rated component.
