Precise Diamond Ground Tungsten:
Sharpie grinders deliver quick and consistent electrode grinds for snappy arc starts, better puddle control and improved weld quality. The double-sided diamond wheel easily grinds tungsten electrode sizes, .040"**, 1/16", 3/32" and 1/8" (1.0mm, 1.6mm, 2.4mm and 3.2mm). **Note: .040" (1.0mm) collet sold separately.

High Quality Tool:
You are investing in a quality product that will deliver years of service. Each Sharpie is built to demanding specifications, we use only the finest globally sourced motors & the majority of the machined parts are made in the USA!

Tip Flat Option:
Tungsten electrodes ground to a sharp point are proven to burn off and cause inclusions in your weld. By Removing the point & adding a tip flat, you get better arc starts, longer electrode tip life & reduced weld contamination.

Cut-Off/Score Option:
The built-in cut-off or scoring option allows you to cut & remove only contaminated portions of the electrode. No more bending or breaking electrodes which causes splintering of the tungsten, reducing electrode performance.

Safe & Easy To Use:
Set your machine up for the job at hand & grind electrodes in the shop or in the field. Enclosed grinding wheel eliminates safety issues common with "side" or "wheel" grinders which can grab the electrode and shoot it back at the operator.

Save Time & Money:
Diamond ground electrodes reduce tungsten consumption and waste. Stop wearing out belts on your sander & grinding deep grooves in your bench grinder wheels. Your shop will be cleaner, safer and more productive. The reversible long-life diamond wheel means low replacement part costs.

Weld Like A Pro Tip
Frequently re-grinding worn electrode tips improves weld quality & lowers tungsten usage. Waiting until the tip is completely eroded or contaminated, requires grinding off more tungsten material, resulting in higher tungsten usage, costing you time & money.

Posted by Wes Mishler on Nov 14th 2014

For a base model tungsten grinder the Sharpie SD sure provides a professional grind! I have used this grinder for four years and has been a excellent tool. The diamond wheels are very reasonably priced and last a long time. The wheels are also double faced. Which means once the one side is wore out you can flip it over and use the backside. Cut quality and simplicity is what I like about this grinder. Just stick the tungsten in, twist a few times and you have a consistent cut angle and cut finish. The tungsten collets are easy to change out to adjust to different sizes of tungsten. This machine is very light weight verses any other grinder Arc-Zone provides. It has a handy steel loop on the back that provides a great place to hang the grinder from when not in use. I hung mine from my Tig machine. This grinder has a place in many settings. Ideal for home shops and small fab shops. Small enough to keep by your side on your bench and not be in the way. The price is on point! Check me out on Instagram and say hi. Come see what I can do with a properly ground tungsten @Wicked_Welding

Posted by Nick Mishler on Nov 11th 2014

I must say that i have had the most experience with this grinder over all the others. Where I work during the day bought one 4-5 years ago for a couple of reasons. 1) being the safety factor. A open bench grinder is very dangerous for working with a small piece of tungsten. 2) We wanted to have the portability of a hand held grinder. 3) we wanted to get the most out of our tungsten buy grinding down to a point where you can't use it no more. The only reason I gave this a 4 and not a 5 star rating is the fact that if you ball up the tip of your tungsten to big is will not fit through the collect. When I'm personally ready to buy a grinder this will be the one. Thanks, Nick

Posted by Jason Moser on Nov 10th 2014

I am welder for a state run fab shop and have been a professional for nearly two decades. I will admit however my tungnsten grinder knowledge has been limited until a recent trip to the zone to see for myself. After using several of the grinders there at the store , I can say this would be the one for me. The ease of use , the portability and the precision have me sold on this little unit. I will definitely be investing in this grinder. This grinder is perfect for small shops or hobbyist alike that want top quality without the big price point.!! Most important is the price point, the reasonable price is definitely on the budget for most welding shops and businesses. I am sold on this grinder, follow me on Instagram @jalumo_1973

All I have to say is this machine has made wonders for our shop. For the price of this machine and what it does I am speechless.

The fixed angle grinder works great, better than my previous setup. The technician informed me that you can get contamination from using the bench grinder and it definitely helps have a specific grinder for tungsten.

I'm a student at the local tech college taking the basic welding course. As you may have guessed, the need to sharpen the tungsten electrode is pretty frequent. The sharpie standard model has been a huge time saver, allowing me more time to learn tig. The price for of the sharpie is fairly steep for a student but well worth the cost in time saved. I would recommend this product to anyone from bigginer to expert. Sincerly, Dave
