The enclosed grinding wheel provides a more controlled tungsten grinding area compared with using an open bench grinder or belt sander. A dedicated tungsten grinder also helps keep electrodes away from grinding surfaces that may have been used on other metals.

What tungsten sizes can it grind?
The grinder supports .040" (1.0mm), 1/16" (1.6mm), 3/32" (2.4mm), and 1/8" (3.2mm) tungsten with the appropriate collet.

Is the .040" collet included?
The standard grinder does not include the .040" collet. It is sold separately or included with the Pro Kit.

Can it create a tip flat?
Yes. The Sharpie SDCL™ includes a tip-flat function.

Can it cut contaminated tungsten?
Yes. The grinder includes a cut-off / scoring feature for removing contaminated sections of an electrode.

What's the difference between the standard SDCL™ and the Pro Kit?
