Protect and Maintain Water-Cooled Welding Systems
Using the right coolant keeps your torch running cool, protects your pump, and extends equipment life. Bad coolant leads to overheating, buildup, and failure over time.
Choose the right mix, use distilled water, and avoid common coolant mistakes.
What to Use
- Propylene Glycol – Best for most welding setups (safe, reliable)
- Ethylene Glycol – Higher cooling, but more toxic (sealed systems only)
- Arc-Zone pick: Propylene glycol for most applications.
Mix & Water
- Run 25%–40% glycol + distilled water
- Never use tap or hose water
Avoid These Mistakes
Running straight water. Using automotive antifreeze. Mixing with tap water. Not changing coolant.
Maintenance
Check weekly. Flush every 6–12 months. Replace annually.
Warning Signs
Hot torch. Loud pump. Dirty coolant.
Run clean coolant. Run it right.
